Why DIY Mole Control Rarely Works

Our Mole Control Process
Survey the Tunnel System
Our mole catcher surveys the affected area to identify active runs — the deep, permanent tunnels that moles use regularly — as opposed to shallow surface runs. Traps set in active runs are far more effective than those placed randomly.
Set Traps
We set professional-grade traps in the active runs, taking care to minimise disturbance and human scent. Traps are positioned correctly to intercept moles moving through the tunnel system.
Regular Checks
We return to check and reset traps at regular intervals, typically every 24–48 hours. Prompt checking is essential both for effectiveness and to comply with animal welfare legislation.
Confirm Resolution
We continue until mole activity has ceased and no further catches are made. We then advise on any preventative measures that may help reduce the risk of re-colonisation from neighbouring land.
